Shark Diving in Baa Atoll.
Grey reef sharks at the channels.
About this experience
The Maldives is one of the world's great shark diving destinations, and Baa Atoll offers some of the most accessible and reliable encounters in the country.
Grey reef sharks are the most common — seen cruising the outer edges of channels in groups of five or ten. Whitetip reef sharks rest in coral overhangs during the day, and nurse sharks are frequent around the house reef. Seasonal visitors include silvertip and, occasionally, hammerheads at deeper outer sites.
Shark dives are run only with certified divers and typically involve a drift along a channel wall at fifteen to thirty metres. The briefing covers respectful behaviour and positioning.
